A program on the 150-year anniversary of President Abraham Lincoln’s assassination is scheduled for 6:00 p. m. CDT April 16 in the Marshall Public Library at 612 Archer Avenue in Marshall, Illinois.

Chuck Hand, a retired history teacher, Lincoln extraordinaire, and Lincoln materials dealer for the past 26 years, will relive the details of the dreadful night President Lincoln was assassinated. Hand will discuss the minutes leading up to the assassination, the Ford’s Theatre turmoil, the events following Lincoln’s assassination and the capture of John Wilkes Booth.

Hand will have many artifacts from the night of Lincoln’s assassination available for the public to see and touch. Parents are advised to use discretion, as the details of the program may be somewhat graphic.
