Join the Director of Manuscripts and Visual Collections at the Indiana Historical Society, Paul Brockman, for an interactive workshop designed to help the researcher who has ancestors who were in the military. This workshop will help you to fully explore and maximize the clues you have to tap into information available on your military ancestors. Researching military records often poses difficulties since records are located in many different repositories. Learn how to overcome many common obstacles related to the military research by using computer techniques to trace your ancestors military records.


Paul Brockman is the Director of Manuscripts and Visual Collections at the Indiana Historical Society. He began his career at the Indiana Historical Society shortly after graduating with his Master of Arts in European History in 1978.  He has published many articles in Traces of Indiana and Midwestern History.  He was the co-author of A Guide to Manuscript Collections in the Indiana Historical Society and the Indiana State Library  He was the editor of the Indiana German Heritage Society Newsletter and a member of their board. He is an invaluable part of the Indiana Historical Society.
