Wabash Valley Genealogy Society is a volunteer organization without an office or research library and therefore is unable to offer in-depth research services.  The following options are available through the society and through other local sources.

 Vigo County Public Library

The Vigo County Public Library’s Special Collections department is happy to help with general research inquiries at no charge. Questions are answered on a first-come, first-served basis, and the amount of time it takes to answer each request is dependent on the complexity of the question(s).

Tribune-Star Newspaper Query

Send your query about a Wabash Valley family or surname to tamszion@gmail.com. Include as much information about the person or family you are searching for, including names, dates, relationships, and places of residence. Also include both your regular mailing address and e-mail address so readers can reply to you. Phone number is optional. Your query will run free in the Terre Haute Tribune-Star newspaper’s Sunday “Genealogy” column. (The Wabash Valley includes queries for Vigo, Clay, Sullivan, Parke, Putnam, and Vermillion counties in Indiana, and Edgar, Clark, and Vermilion counties in Illinois).
