The presentation on land records in Illinois will cover a brief discussion of land descriptions in Illinois and the record books in which land transactions are typically recorded (deed books, quit claims, warrantee deeds, mortgages, releases, etc.). We will continue with a discussion of typical grantor/grantee indexes, tract/parcel indexes, actually searching and locating transactions for a specific piece of property, and a discussion of several actual research problems involving land records.
